Interpol est un groupe de rock new-yorkais formé en 1998 autour du guitariste Daniel Kessler et du batteur Greg Drudy (qui sera ensuite remplacé par Sam Forgarino).
Leur premier album est signé sur le label indépendant Matador Records en 2002. "Turn on the Bright Lights" connaît un grand succès et Interpol se voit régulièrement comparé à Joy division. Interpol publie en 2004 "Antics" et "Our Love to Admire" en 2006.
Des textes éclairés, menés par un subtil mélange de punk rock distillé d'effets sonores atmosphériques : la recette d'Interpol place le groupe sur le devant de la nouvelle scène rock new-yorkaise.
